The Pink Monsters, from Senigallia to the Metaverse

They were born during Covid, invaded the city of Senigallia giving good cheer in a period that had little good in it, and recently landed as NFT in the Metaverse.

I Pink Monsters, cute little pink monsters born from the creative genius of Francesco Diotallevi as part of the initiative organized by Simona Zava and Marco Pettinari in the fall of 2020, they took a leap into Web 3.0 by landing on the OpenSea platform as Non Fungible Tokens-essentially unique and certified digital images-in the collection published by Sayato.

Francesco Diotallevi with “Pink Monsters” highlights his extravagant role as an artist, giving, as always, irony a central role. It is impossible to deny the sense of attraction that his pink monsters inspire. Figures interpreted in the most unusual versions, from mythological ones to those completely invented by the artist, allowing reflections on ancient symbols and myths and affirming, in a kind of vision, the artist’s poetics. Its anomalous creatures are not frightening, but they fascinate and enchant the beholder; they live in a timeless space and seem to come from who knows what planet.
When they appeared on city streets in the form of billboards, they intrigued, attracted, entertained people of all ages, who did not fail to populate social media with selfies and posts depicting the pink monsters.

The recent arrival in the Metaverse represents – instead – further recognition of the artist’s creativity, who after traditional exhibitions in Italy and abroad wanted to try his hand at the new frontier of the art world: the immaterial one. Each individual image is certified as unique thanks to blockchain technology and is available to art enthusiasts who have begun collecting digital works, using cryptocurrency for their investments.
