Kinia Barber

She approached the art world while studying Interior Design at the University of Barcelona, discovering the love for colors that led her to her great passion: painting.

Her intent has always been – and is – to express her feelings in her work, in order to share them with people.

The sea and the sun are her most important sources of inspiration and living on an island she is constantly fascinated by the blue tones of the immensity of the ocean.
For this reason, her color palette is based on blue, turquoise, red and pink.

She is an artist constantly on the move, she loves to experiment and always discover new things.

She participates in both individual and collective exhibitions, both in Spain and abroad:
UnFair Milan
The Other Art Fair Virtual Edition
The Other Art Fair London
Art Market Budapest
Nit D’art, Port de Mao
FigBilbao Art Fair

She says about herself:

I am an artist living in Menorca, Balearic Islands in Spain.
My works are bright, colorful, lively and always talk about those little moments that make me feel happy.
Color and instinctive gesture distinguish my works, made with acrylic: it’s the technique I prefer the most thanks to my love for water.
Sometimes I also use mixed media, adding paper and sand.
I really like applying different coats of color and seeing how time and life flow through the color.
The most important thing I look for in my work is to transfer my emotions to the canvas, giving light and life to the people who look at my works, possibly without thinking.
It is a kind of chromotherapy in which the blue of the sea soothes us and brings us back to those fun moments we experienced on vacation.
The Mediterranean sea is my inspiration.
