Tonino Maurizi's works light up in Mondolfo's Christmas

Great public participation for the exhibition “A Thousand Times Christmas” by Tonino Maurizi – dedicated to the theme of the Nativity and the Holy Family – which the City of Mondolfo (PU) is presenting in collaboration with Sayato.

A selection of works, among all those that make up the impressive output Maurizi has devoted to this theme since 1968, is on display at the Aurora Salon of the St. Augustine Monumental Complex to illuminate Christmas in Mondolfo, one of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages from December 17, 2022 to January 15, 2023.

Curated by Francesca Maurizi and Stefano Papetti, the exhibition represents the thread of a journey that began in December 2017 with a solo exhibition at Saint Saviour’s Monastry Custody of the Holy Land in Jerusalem during which the Marche-based painter presented 110 works dedicated to the Nativity.

The Mondolfo exhibition will feature historical works from his production as well as newly created works, created with different painting techniques including Maurizi’s traditional spatula painting on canvas with colors prepared by the artist himself, as well as themed sculptures.

In view of the significant response from visitors, the City of Mondolfo has decided on the special openings of the Sant’Agostino to allow as many people as possible to enjoy this important cultural event.
